  • CO2 sensor

Extending EV driving distance

The sensor monitors the concentration of CO2 in the cabin and switches between the internal environment and fresh air intake to uphold appropriate levels of CO2 while decreasing power consumption.

Did you know that the HVAC system has a great impact on the overall range of EVs?
If the in-cabin air continues to be recirculated, the CO2 concentration in the cabin will increase, posing a risk to the driver's ability to concentrate (chart 1). On the other hand, Reducing CO2 by opening the fresh air intake uncontrolled comes at the cost of high energy losses.

Our Demo Car has been able to achieve a reduction of over 50% to the compressor electric current compared to the fresh air intake.

With the CO2 sensor from Senseair, an Asahi Kasei company, a healthy cabin atmosphere can be achieved while extending the range of the car. This sensor monitors the CO2 levels in the cabin to ensure that CO2 levels do not exceed the appropriate range by switching between the inner-air circulation and the fresh air intake. This allows us to maintain the optimal atmosphere for the cabin while keeping energy usage at a minimum (chart 2). As a result, the driving range for EVs can be extended. Our CO2 sensor uses LEDs to achieve exceptionally high-power savings and improving the overall driving range of the vehicle.

  • Alcohol sensor

Drunk driving prevention

This sensor measures the amount of alcohol in the driver's breath and checks the state of intoxication by simply blowing into the steering column.

Drunk driving will remain an issue inherent to automobiles until they become fully autonomous. The Our alcohol sensor can prevent drunk driving. Our Demo Car is equipped with this sensor in the steering column.
When a driver steps into the vehicle and breathes near the breathalyzer mechanism, our sensor measures the amount of CO2 and alcohol to quickly determine if the driver has been drinking. The Our alcohol sensor can detect this seamlessly from the driver's seat in a hygienic way without the need to put your mouth on an object.

  • CO2 sensor

Detection of children left behind

By measuring the concentration of CO2 within the cabin of a parked car, the sensor can detect if a child has been left behind and send an alert to a smartphone or other device.

The Our CO2 sensor can detect if a child has been left behind in a car. Our Demo Car has this CO2 sensor installed in its B-Pillar and begins measuring the levels of CO2 in the cabin when the engine is stopped and the doors are locked. After that, our original algorithms analyze the change of CO2 levels in the cabin to detect a child or animal's breath and send a notification to a smart phone or other device. The Our CO2 sensor is extremely sensitive and can detect the breath of even a young child.
