Sound-absorption

SunForce® (AM) is foam composed of macaroni-shaped beads. Therefore, the polyamide foam can have sound-absorption characteristics. Adjusting the foam thickness allows for the control of sound-absorption characteristics in a specific frequency band.
*The use of this material together with Precisé™ (polyester nonwoven fabric) can achieve a sound absorption coefficient of 0.5 or higher at 1000Hz.

High strength and Light weight

In the foaming process of SunForce® (AM), films between cells are not broken. Accordingly, even when the foaming ratio is high, SunForce® (AM) has high strength as well as rigidity and can be used without a support. As a result, SunForce® (AM) allows for the reduction of the amount of resin used, and at the same time can lead to weight reduction.

Heat insulation

SunForce® (AM) satisfies all the three elements given below, achieving high heat insulation. The first element is that the amount of resin used is small because it is foam, and this results in small "heat conduction". The second element is that since SunForce® (AM) is closed-cell foam, it prevents "convection" caused by a gas flow. The third element is that since its bubble diameter is very small, it contains a lot of foam films inside. This results in less radiation. With these three elements, SunForce® (AM) has become an excellent material.

The advantages of SunForce® (AM) are high rigidity and excellent shock absorption. Therefore, SunForce® (AM) leads to the weight reduction of vehicles without decreasing their body stiffness and shock absorption, contributing to improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.
