SunForce™️ (AM) is a material that combines the advantages of both polyamide and foam
Polyamide resins are known as plastics with excellent properties such as excellent resistance to heat, abrasion and chemicals. Polyamide foams are made by foaming polyamide-based resins. They are expected to be used in applications such as automotive parts and electrical products. They make it possible to reduce the weight of these parts and products, yet retain excellent properties such as resistance to heat, abrasion, and chemicals.

Sound-absorption
SunForce™️ (AM) is foam composed of macaroni-shaped beads. Therefore, the polyamide foam can have sound-absorption characteristics. Adjusting the foam thickness allows for the control of sound-absorption characteristics in a specific frequency band.
*The use of this material together with Precisé™ (polyester nonwoven fabric) can achieve a sound absorption coefficient of 0.5 or higher at 1000Hz.
High strength and Light weight
In the foaming process of SunForce™️ (AM), films between cells are not broken. Accordingly, even when the foaming ratio is high, SunForce™️ (AM) has high strength as well as rigidity and can be used without a support. As a result, SunForce™️ (AM) allows for the reduction of the amount of resin used, and at the same time can lead to weight reduction.
Heat insulation
SunForce™️ (AM) satisfies all the three elements given below, achieving high heat insulation. The first element is that the amount of resin used is small because it is foam, and this results in small "heat conduction". The second element is that since SunForce™️ (AM) is closed-cell foam, it prevents "convection" caused by a gas flow. The third element is that since its bubble diameter is very small, it contains a lot of foam films inside. This results in less radiation. With these three elements, SunForce™️ (AM) has become an excellent material.
Reducing the weight of existing parts
The advantages of SunForce™️ (AM) are high rigidity and excellent shock absorption. Therefore, SunForce™️ (AM) leads to the weight reduction of vehicles without decreasing their body stiffness and shock absorption, contributing to improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.
Improving ride comfort
Since SunForce™️ (AM) is foam composed of macaroni-shaped beads, it has sound-absorption characteristics. Therefore, it can respond to needs for in-vehicle quietness that are increasingly demanded in the automotive industry. In addition, SunForce™️ (AM) allows for designing an optimum structure in which the frequency characteristics are changed for the source of the sound to be suppressed.
