Leona™ PN Series offers high heat resistance and excellent electrical properties among polyamides, enabling improved thermal durability and size reduction.

Leona™ PN Series offers high heat resistance and excellent electrical properties among polyamides, enabling improved thermal durability and size reduction.

Feature01

High Mechanical Strength

“PN00B” of the Leona™ PN Series contains 25% glass fiber, yet it exhibits higher strength than PA9T grades reinforced with 30% or even 45% glass fiber. In addition, its lower glass‑fiber content provides excellent flowability during molding, making it suitable for thinner‑section and compact components.

Feature02

High Heat‑Aging Resistance

Leona™ PN Series offers one of the highest glass transition temperatures among PPAs and provides excellent long‑term heat resistance. The grade “PN00B” retained approximately 94% of its tensile strength after aging at 150°C for 3,000 hours. Its melting point also exceeds 320°C, making it suitable for use in reflow applications.

Feature03

Electrical Properties (High CTI)

Leona™ PN Series offers excellent electrical properties, and the grade “PN00B” has achieved a CTI of 600 V. This characteristic contributes to improved performance in high‑voltage components and supports size reduction by allowing shorter creepage distances.

Usage example01

Connectors

Leona™ PN00B has a high heat deflection temperature, making it suitable for SMT connectors that undergo reflow. It contributes to improved heat resistance of products, halogen‑free flame retardancy, and size reduction enabled by its high CTI. Its excellent toughness also helps reduce the risk of cracking during connector assembly.

Usage example02

Inductor products

Inductor products used in electrical circuits, especially for EVs, are being required to offer higher voltage resistance and smaller sizes. Leona™ PN00B, with a CTI of 600 V, can contribute to improved voltage resistance and downsizing, serving as an alternative to PPS and PET resins.
