Asahi Kasei booth will be based on the theme of “SustainaStyle”, which is a more comfortable and positive approach to sustainability awareness. This theme is a coined word that combines “Sustainable Style” and “Sustain a Style,” and represents our vision to continue to create materials and technologies that can lead to a more attractive approach to sustainability.

Based on the attitude of “Care for People, Care for Earth,” our goal is to create a sustainable society that is both environmentally friendly and emotionally valuable to people.

The following are planned to be exhibited:

・Three technologies that can contribute to the circular economy
・11 products with emotional value of “see,” “hear,” and “touch”
・Concept car AKXY2

“Circular Economy” section

We will introduce three technologies that we are working on to achieve carbon neutrality and a circular economy.
(1) Bio-chemical technology: By producing basic chemicals (ethylene, propylene, BTX, etc.) from bioethanol, various materials can be converted from fossil fuel (petroleum) origin to biomass origin.
(2) Dissolution recycling technology: Solvent separation of waste materials and composite materials yields high-quality polyamide 66, which can be reused in a wide variety of applications.
(3) Chemical recycling technology: depolymerization using microwave to convert airbags and composite materials back into monomers, polyamide 66 with the same physical properties as 100% virgin polyamide 66 can be obtained.

“See” section

Products that can provide safety and comfort by enhancing design and visualization.
(1) CNF (cellulose nanofiber) composite filament pellets: Expanding the possibilities of 3D printing by improving the strength and finish of printed materials.
(2) Child Presence Detection (CPD) compliant in-vehicle monitoring solution: Prevents children from being left behind by using highly accurate radar and algorithms.

“Hear” section

Active and passive noise reduction solutions that improve the user’s driving experience will be presented with a collection of sound-related technologies.
(1) “VELVET SOUND for Cars,” an in-car sound design solution: Visitors can experience a world of sound in their cars that makes them feel as if they are there.

“Touch” section

Products that achieve both texture and sustainability, both important in interior design, will be presented.
(1) DURANOL™: It maintains the aesthetic appearance of interiors and car seats for a long period of time by combining the durability of polyurethane with a high quality feel.
(2) Thermylene® SoForm: Combines soft touch and scratch resistance even without painting.

By experiencing our technologies through the five senses, we aim to create a new mobility society in collaboration with our customers and partners.
